Mouth Sewn Shut

Unless you have been living under a rock then no doubt you would have heard or read about the Charlotte Dawson Saga.

Some people are saying she brought it on herself, that she should have just ignored the trolls.  But should she really have?

All of the 'bully chats' when I was at school told us to ignore the bully. They just want attention. They just want a reaction from you.  It will be better if you ignore it.  Is it really?  None of my recollection of being taunted from school is that ignoring them is good.  I'm a stewer, I sit on things until I explode.  Clearly ignoring it doesn't work.

It's really kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation.  It all depends on your inner workings.  If you can turn something off and not think about it again, then go with the ignoring option. If not, then do what works for you.

I'm kind of a blow it all out in the open kind of person.  If someone has the 'balls' to say something nasty then I call them on it.  If they act one way in private and completely different way in public, then I call them on it.  I try to stand by the thought of 'If you wouldn't say it to their face then don't say it online.'  If you are so 'proactive' in letting someone know what you think about them, then why the need for secrecy.

This week my brother was suspended.  One of the reasons given was that he kept having outbursts at other students when the were saying stuff to him on the sly.  So in short, he got suspended for sticking up for himself.  My mum brought this up with the teacher....apparently what he is doing is worse.  So again, in short standing up for yourself against bullies is worse than the bullying itself.  No wonder the rate of teen suicide is so high.

FFS Friday: It's been a while

It's been a while since I have done a FFS Friday and honestly I have no idea why.  They are the easiest post to write because I always have something to rant about. Always.

DS is still engaging in massive sleep dodging techniques.  An early night here is 11pm FFS.

What we do during the day has no bearing on whether or not he decides to go to sleep at a reasonable time or not. So stop suggesting that we get out more. FFS

The house hunting has come to a grounding halt because all of the houses in our price range are shit. FFS

My house looks like a bomb has hit it and I don't have the energy to clean it. Something that DS seems to be playing on by pulling out ALL OF THE TOYS. FFS

If you don't have the balls to stand behind an insult you sling at someone, then don't say it.  This is real life people.  Highschool ended years ago. FFS

The only way that we have gotten DS to sleep through lately is by putting on a movie.  Don't tell me about your studies. It will make me want to punch you. Repeatedly. FFS

I was filling in DS enrollment forms for daycare this morning and the only thing I could think of that he does well is "Annoy the fuck out of his mother". That's probably not acceptable.  I don't want to act like a complete bogan. Yet. FFS.

What's been pissing you off this week?
P.s completely forgot to add the linky for you to check out all the other awesomeness FFS

A day in the life

So today I decided to do a photo post of a day in the life of us. Hour by Hour.  It was heaps of fun and Devil Spawn loved posing for pics.
So we begin.

Our day wonderfully started at 945am. DS slept with me.  I felt like I was sharing a bed with a mack truck...with octopus like tendencies.

Being a responsible mother and preparing a lunch to take with us.  We are off on a bus ride to the beach and to see Devil Papa.

At the bus stop and have all the essentials packed.  Obviously that includes a couple of monster trucks.

We're on the road and off to the beach. Finally!

Got a spare mil laying around? You too could own one of these.  It's just a pity that you have to live close to Bogan Town too.

 Watching the world go by.

Off the bus and picking up a few things at the shop before going to DP's work.

I'm really thinking that it's time to whip out the old backpack harness again.  He's so fucking fast and I have no hope of catching him.  I also don't want to get knocked out when my ample bosom start bouncing around.

On the home stretch now. Nearly there. By this stage I'm ready to chop off my arms they hurt so much.

DS spotted some cool mowers on our walk to DP work.

DS is checking out the merchandise.  After this he tried brushing his hair with a wire brush. Oh yes he's a special one.

You can't see me mum.  I laughed so hard when I looked to see where he was hiding.

DS always loves playing in DP work 'truck'.
DP gets lollies with some of his deliveries so DS makes sure to raid them every time.

Sword fights with a feather duster!

Who knew there could be this many different kinds of screws.

DP pulled out a blower for DS. He loved it. Especially as I had a flowy top on and he got to chase me with it.

20 secs before this I was kneeling down and he blew me in the face.  He thought it was hilarious.

Waiting in the car for DP to finish and lock up.

Home again.  Slothing on the couch until it's time to cook dinner.

 Feeding time at the farm!

DS is in bed so it's time for some indulgence of Big Brother and a Violet Crumble.

Phew that took a hell of a lot longer than I anticipated but I had heaps of fun taking the pics.  Unfortunately even though I had my Big Brother and Violet Crumble fix at 730, DS is still awake and I'm dying in the arse fast.
Here's to hoping he get's that feeling soon too!
